Sigurður Guðjónsson takes us into the core of technology in the video Lightroom (2018). We are situated in an enchanting space, lit up by an old slide projector, that has been documented with a hight definition camera. The mechanical movement and progress of something that is usually not visible is made perceptible through visual experinece and the interaction of image and sound. The work refers indirectly to other art works by Sigurður where he explores the core activity of things. Handled by the artist, old and outdated devices undergo a transformation and he gives them a new and abstract life. In the process he extracts the poetic beauty of the technology behind an object´s activity, revealing a mechanism where the old meets the new.
